Frequently Asked Questions
How many students per school can enter into the Science Fair? In
order to maximize quality science fair projects, the number of grade 7
and 8 projects from any school will be limited to 20% of the school's
Gr. 7/8 school population OR 15 projects, whichever is greater.
Can I enter the WRSTEF as an independent?
No student may enter the WRSTEF
Regional Fair without permission from a teacher advisor. If a school
holds a formal Science Fair, only students who received a Gold, Silver
or Bronze certificate at the school level of competition should enter
the Regional level of competition. For home schooled students, your
project must first be approved by our chief judge -
wrstef@gmail.com.
How do I request for space? Am I obligated to pay for all these spots?
No, your are not obligated to pay for reserved spots, this is only an
estimate. We understand that numbers may change. To register for space
online, go to www.wrstef.ca -> Registration (top of page) -> Space
application. This will guarantee a number of spots for your school. You
are not committed to this number but it will help us to determine rooms,
medals, judges required.
Where is the Fair being hosted this year?
This year, the fair is being hosted at the CAW Student Center of the
University of Windsor.
How much does it cost? How do I pay?
The cost is
$12 per student, $24 per pair. The fee includes the lunch provided.
Penalty for late payment is $25 per student / $50 pair. The penalty fee
payment also applies to any student who did not online register by the
Friday March 12th, midnight deadline. Once your students have
registered, your school is responsible for paying the total amount. No
money will be refunded. Only one payment per
school will be accepted. If your students are responsible to pay their
own entrance fee, these payments need to be consolidated by your school.
Make cheque payable to WRSTEF. No cheques will be accepted during the
set up day without paying the penalty fee $25 per student ($50 pair). No
students will be allowed to set up until the school has paid.
What can
students win?

were given in the past.
Can students use animals in their project?
Yes,
